St Peter’s Church, Daylesford
Perched high on the hill overlooking Daylesford, since 1865 the grand St Peter’s Church has loomed large over the town, when the wonderfully-named Bishop James Alipius Goold officially opened its doors.
Over 160 years later St Peter’s remains one of Daylesford’s most significant landmarks, and for three wintery nights this August, some of Australia’s most extraordinary artists will perform within its hallowed walls.

The Old Schoolhouse, Kooroocheang
Under the shadow of one the largest extinct volcanoes in the district, the former Kooroocheang Primary School closed its doors in 1962 and had been leaning on its side ever since, gradually sinking into the surrounding paddocks. That is until a couple of years ago, when local chippy Brenton strapped it to his car winch and had the whole thing straightened before morning smoko.
Since then the Old Schoolhouse has been meticulously restored - blackboards and all - much to the delight of the local farming community. Just 20 minutes from Daylesford, there’s a stillness at Kooroocheang to which you can’t put a name, and we’re so excited to be kicking open the school doors for two incredible performances as part of Winter Sounds ‘26.
